Hanas, 20, was picked 55th overall by the Red Wings in 2020 after a decent sophomore season with the Winterhawks but has turned some heads this year with his strong play.
Trevor Zegras may have started a trend. Detroit Red Wings prospect Cross Hanas certainly seems to have been inspired by the highlight-reel goal cooked up by Anaheim Ducks forwards Sonny Milano and Zegras earlier this month.
