Eklund: No Shortage of Interest in Burmistrov; Bogosian Update
There is no doubt that Alexander Burmistrov has been a frustrating player to Winnipeg Jets head coach Claude Noel in the Russian forward's still-brief NHL career. Rumors that Burmistrov wanted out of Winnipeg were rampant even before the 2013 trade deadline and have now gone public. The chances of Burmistrov wearing a Jets uniform are slim to none.
Nevertheless, based on a...
Peter Tessier: Whatâs a Player Worth? Little and Wheeler Thoughts
I've got lots to say, some of it actually matter so follow me on Twitter HERE
The Winnipeg Jets have 4 key free agents, two of which will pop up in the rumour mill until they are either signed, offer sheeted or traded. Itâs simple off-season speculation and rumour mill logic. The four players are Bogosian, Wheeler, Little, and Burmistrov and the two for which the rumour...
Gary Lawless: Alex Burmistrov wants out of Winnipeg
Another Jet rumored to want out.
Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press is reporting that Alex Burmistrov wants out of Winnipeg, and will not sign a contract extension this summer. Lawless noted that Burmistrov, an RFA this summer, “wished to be traded at the deadline” and has “no intention of re-signing with the Jets.” Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff was rumored to attempt...
The Aftermath of Another Lost Season
It's been awhile since the Winnipeg Jets hit the ice and then quickly cleaned out their lockers at the end of their second season in Winnipeg.
It also seemed like a long time before the playoffs started after that last loss to the Montreal Canadiens in late April.
And it seems like even a longer time until the Jets will once again hit the ice.
So cruel - not to have...
Peter Tessier: Jets Prospects Starting to Impress More than Winnipeggers
I've got playoff thoughts too if you want to follow me on Twitter HERE
If there is any good news for the Winnipeg Jets and their playoff starved fans itâs coming from the CHL. Not just Mark Scheifele in the OHL with the Barrie Colts but also from Adam Lowry of the Swift Current Broncos who was named the WHL player of the year last year.
Starting with Lowry, who was...
Enough Of Good Byfuglien Bad Byfuglien
from Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press,
The Winnipeg Jets cannot and will not move forward as a team with Byfuglien as he is currently constructed. He is a foundation piece and his half-the-time good and half-the-time bad output leaves the team with unsure footing.
The guessing and hoping has to end. It has to be now or never, where Byfuglien is concerned. He's...
Rangers Need Two Points, Jets Loss or Senators Collapse to Clinch Playoff Spot
Despite the Rangers excruciating loss to the Panthers last night, they actually received some good news in their hunt for a playoff spot as the ninth place Winnipeg Jets lost to the Washington Capitals, meaning the Blueshirts magic number is now two.
If the Rangers can gain just two measly points in their final two games (@Carolina on Thursday, vs. the Devils at MSG on Saturday...
Zach Redmond Shows Off Gruesome Scar After Skate Split His Leg Wide Open (Photo)
Scars are just as much a part of hockey as pucks, pads and swear words.
Zach Redmond, who was cut by teammate Antti Miettinen’s skate during a practice at PNC Arena in Raleigh on Feb. 21, has made a “miraculous” recovery, Jets team physician Dr. Peter MacDonald told the Winnipeg Free Press.
And he’s got the cool scar to prove it, as seen below.

Zach Redmond reveals scar from horrific injury
Cited by doctors as a “miracle” recovery, Winnipeg Jets forward Zach Redmond was back on the ice skating on Friday morning, only a little more than a month after suffering a lacerated femoral artery after a teammate’s skate gashed his upper leg. Jets team doctor Peter MacDonald was quoted in the Winnipeg Press as stating that the team expects Redmond back in training camp next...
Winnipeg’s Defenseman Zach Redmond Shows Off What a Slashed Femoral Artery Scar Looks Like
Winnipeg Jets defender Zach Redmond is lucky to be alive following having his femoral artery slashed by a skate just over six weeks ago, and even more incredible is that he returned to the ice today. As a reminder of what happened, Zach has a nice little scar which you can check out below.
Docs for #nhljets expect Zach Redmond to make full recovery and be in training camp, if not...
Evander Kane Tosses Alexei Emelin’s Helmet During Fight in Jets-Canadiens Game (Video)
Alexei Emelin needs to use better judgement when picking his battles.
The Canadiens defenseman, who was pummeled by Zdeno Chara in a game against the Bruins back on March 3, antagonized Winnipeg’s Evander Kane into a fight Thursday night. Kane didn’t take kindly to the instigating, and he proceeded to rip Emelin’s helmet off, toss it violently to the ice and land several hard...
DON'T NEED THAT
Evander Kane chucks foe's helmet during fight
Fighting Evander Kane isn't usually something people enter into lightly, at least not after his one and done knockout of Matt Cooke a couple years ago. He's not only one of the best forwards in the league (and probably the best player on the Winnipeg Jets), he's also got a little temper on him. Alexei Emelin learned the hard way that chirping and antagonizing Kane usually...
Jets sign defenseman Jacob Trouba
The Winnipeg Jets signed defenseman Jacob Trouba to a contract on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old played 37 games with the University of Michigan during the 2012-13 season.

He was selected to the 2013 Central Collegiate Hockey Association's All-Rookie team determined by a vote of the conference...
