BRAD STUART RUMORS & GOSSIP

Brad Stuart’s hit on Justin Williams was fantastic (Video)

Boom. Shoulder to shoulder. Didn’t launch. Kept arms and elbows in. As good a hockey play as you’ll see. “DISCIPLINE US FOR THAT!” — Doug Wilson, somewhere drunk probably. [vid via NHL.com]

Nice hit, Stuey

Via We All Bleed Red on YouTube, as a Wings fan, I sure miss Brad Stuart, and the Sharks defenseman made the highlight reels for the right reasons on Saturday--he delivered a hard but clean hit to Kings forward Justin Williams, who eventually got up and is playing for the Kings right now: Hitting can be clean and devastating without deliveirng nasty injuries or controversy. Who knew?

Brad Stuart Crushes Justin Williams With Clean Hit

It appears that playing with Niklas Kronwall rubbed off on Brad Stuart.  The San Jose Sharks defenseman laid Los Angeles Kings forward Justin Williams with this Kronwall-esque hit late in the first period.  Stuart timed the hit perfectly and Williams could do nothing by the time he looked up and realized what was coming for him. Anyone Planning To Boo Brad Stuart?

Chuck Pleiness of Red Wings Front spoke with Jonathan Ericsson after practice regarding Brad Stuart returning tomorrow night as a member of the San Jose Sharks. “I hope the fans know that he really liked it here, but he really didn’t have a choice because he didn’t want to be away from his family and kids,” Ericsson said. “I really hope they don’t boo him.” ...

Red Wings’ players, coach know that Brad Stuart’s skates are out the door

Amidst the biggest “storylines” from the Red Wings’ locker room clean-out day, in terms of cringe-worthiness, anyway, Danny Cleary’s knee issues (the Detroit News’s Ted Kulfan adds to the conversation in a blog entry this afternoon) earned some serious sympathy pains… But the Red Wings’ player who seemed to be suffering the most discomfort, however, was and is defenseman...

A bit more about Red Wings defenseman Brad Stuart’s family situation

Red Wings fans have more or less figured out that the reason Brad Stuart’s family hasn’t moved to Detroit with him involves his step-daughter’s custody issues. Mrs. Stuart’s daughter from her previous marriage is 17 and, as far as those familiar with California law can surmise, the Stuarts would have to give up custody of said daughter, depending on the legalities involved...
