The 76ers have signed guard/forward Patrick McCaw to a training camp contract, according to the RealGM transactions log. McCaw, 26, is 6-foot-7 and finished last season with the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ affiliate in the G League. He last appeared in the NBA in the 2020-21 season, when he played five games with the Raptors.
The Sixers are rotating players in and out of the 20th spot on their preseason roster. After signing and waiving guard Mac McClung, the team also signed and waived forward Justin Smith, per NBA.com’s transactions log.

Veteran Patrick McCaw has signed a NBA G League contract and will be suiting up for the Delaware Blue Coats.
The Toronto Raptors have waived guard/forward Patrick McCaw, the team announced in a release. McCaw, 25, has been a member of championship teams with the Raptors and Golden State Warriors, but knee injuries have limited him to just five games this season.
McCaw has been plagued by injuries.
Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Malachi Flynn and Patrick McCaw all remain in the league’s health and safety protocols and won’t be available for Thursday’s game with the Hawks.
After playing without several key rotation players on Wednesday night vs. Detroit due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols, the Raptors will be missing those same players on Thursday in Boston.
Most of the coaching staff, including head coach Nick Nurse, will also miss the game.
Toronto Raptors wing Patrick McCaw will make his injury return Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves after an 11-month absence due to knee surgery to remove a benign mass from his leg.
There’s no timetable for McCaw’s return at this point. If he does re-enter the NBA’s campus, he’ll have to quarantine for at least four days before rejoining the Raptors.
