Seth Rollins feels like he "dodged a bullet" with his knee injury.

Rollins suffered a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus during his World Heavyweight Championship defense against Jinder Mahal on the January 15 episode of Raw. Earlier this week, Rollins made an appearance on Raw and addressed his injury. Rollins vowed that he's still going to defend his title at WrestleMania.

In an interview with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier on DC & RC, Rollins said he wants to return to full strength in around a month. Rollins wants to be able to compete before WrestleMania so that WrestleMania isn't his first match back.

Rollins said:

Yeah, rehab's going to be a pain, man - but dodged a bullet. The ACL is intact, so anybody who knows anything about ligaments in the knee, the ACL is the big one. That one is good. The MCL will heal with time. You know, we'll get in there, we'll do some stuff, we'll check out the PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment) and do some rehab.

I'm hoping to be back at full strength around a month. Around a month is like kind of my timeline. And we'll see what happens. We're gonna take it day-to-day. I'd like to be back in a month. I don't want to walk into WrestleMania and that be my first match in two months, three months, whatever it is. That's not going to be good for me. I want to be able to get back in there, kind of test the wheel out and make sure that we're in a good place. So we'll see how it goes, but I'm taking it day-by-day. And I'm happy, like I said, that we dodged a bullet and it wasn't anything too serious that was going to put me on the shelf for 6-9 months.

The knee injury happened during a spot where Rollins hit a Lionsault on Mahal in their match. Rollins finished the match and defeated Mahal to remain World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins' MCL injury is a grade two tear.

WWE has been building up a Rollins vs. CM Punk program in advance of WrestleMania. A confrontation between Rollins and Gunther also took place on Raw this Monday.
