Dominik Mysterio Undergoing Tommy John Surgery, Could Miss Rest Of 2024

Another tough break for The Judgement Day as Dominik Mysterio needs Tommy John Surgery and could be out until early next year.

On RAW, Dominik Mysterio was seen sporting a sling. It was no clear if he was in fact injured, or WWE was working on angle. With Rhea Ripely also out of action, perhaps, like any typical heel, Mysterio was trying to avoid wrestling as well. Well, that is unfortunately not the case as Mysterio is hurt.

Freak Accident Caused Injury

Instead, we learned in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer how Dominik is set for Tommy John surgery. “It apparently happened in a 4/15 match with Andrade and was described to us as a freak accident,” said Meltzer. “He will be undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow which for a baseball pitcher means at least nine months out. Since he doesn’t have to throw pitches hard, his recovery time would probably be a little shorter. As of right now, the plan would be to keep him as a television character while recovering. He was off the European tour and had his arm in a sling at RAW.”

Just more bad timing for The Judgmental Day. They lost the tag titles at WrestleMania 40 and while Rhea retained her title, but she vacated it about two weeks ago. She shouled be back by SummerSlam. Damian Priest is sitting pretty well. He cashed-in Money in the Bank at WrestleMania to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Finn Balor just re-signed with WWE, but he no longer feels like a main event wrestler. Finally, JD McDonagh has become the joke the of the stable. So, will Dominik Mysterio rebound from Tommy John Surgery and return better than ever?
