The Combate Americas MMA promotion and Jose Alberto Rodriguez, known as Alberto Del Rio, and Alberto El Patron, have been in a legal battle over a lawsuit filed by the former WWE/Impact star.

Del Rio filed an amended lawsuit against the promotion on August 9th before The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, according to Pwinsider.com.

The amended lawsuit was requested after the court terminated Combate Global's parent company as a defendant, so a change had to be made. On July 26th, the court ruled the case will go before a jury next year unless a settlement is made.

The former WWE star filed a lawsuit against them for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and conversion for not turning over his social media accounts. A full breakdown of the lawsuit can be found here.

Del Rio wants compensatory damages for $250,000 for their alleged breach of contract, and interest of at least $26,250 from December 21, 2019, through April 15, 2021. 7% interest of that $26,250 would go for his costs. He also wants Combate to pay for his attorney fees, and have his social media accounts returned to him. Also, “damages determined at trial for compensation for Combate's "unlawful conversion of Plaintiffs’ social media accounts" and any other relief the court may rule is ‘just and proper.’"
