San Antonio Brahmas Lose Former NFL Second-Round Pick to IR

The secondary of the San Antonio Brahmas has taken a hit as one of their cornerbacks is headed to the injured reserve list. Quincy Wilson was placed on the list on Monday with an unknown injury.

Wilson originally signed his letter of intent with the Houston Roughnecks in December. After the merger occurred, Wilson was be selected by the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL Dispersal Draft.

The Indianapolis Colts originally took Wilson in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In three seasons with the team, he posted 61 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and eight pass deflections in 29 games. He also appeared in a trio of games for the New York Jets in 2020, making one tackle.

In three years at Florida, Wilson made 82 tackles, six interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble and one touchdown. He was named Second Team All-SEC in 2016.

San Antonio still has a talented secondary that has plenty of spring football and NFL experience. Guys like Bryce Thompson, Teez Tabor, Darius Phillips and Jordan Mosley should give the team confidence that their pass defense should still be in good shape.

The Brahmas must cut the roster down to 50 players by Saturday which concludes the UFL’s training camp.
