Wolves defender Craig Dawson was relatively pleased with their eventful 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.

The Midlands club managed to peg back the high flying Magpies, despite decisions from the VAR that infuriated them.

Dawson acknowledged that his team may need to defend better, but was pleased with their resilience.

He told club media: We caused them problems. Obviously disappointed with the two goals and we don't seem to be getting any luck with the decisions.

If you take the two goals out of it, we controlled the game, created lots of chances, and it's a point against a very good side, a Champions League side. There was a lot of positives to take from the game.

Under the lights, with the fans right behind us, it was a good game to be involved in. An entertaining game for the fans. It's a point against a very good side, it keeps the little run going, and we move on to the next one."

He added on fighting back: Against a Champions League side, it would be easy to fold and concede more goals. They've got a lot of quality in the team, but it showed the togetherness of the group and the fight and determination, and that's what we want to have as a group. It's instilled from the manager, and you could see the appreciation from the fans, the fans were right behind us, which is massively important at home."
