Watch: Wolverhampton flips script on Tottenham in injury time

Entering November, Tottenham Hotspur were top of the English Premier League after picking up at least a point in their first 10 matches.

Following a chaotic 4-1 loss to Chelsea on Nov. 6, manager Ange Postecoglou and his squad appeared to bounce back, leading Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) 1-0 after 90 minutes.

But in the 91st minute, Matheus Cunha delivered a precise ball to substitute Pablo Sarabia, who controlled the pass with his right foot before firing a powerful volley with his left past Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Six minutes later, Sarabia played the creator role, making a streaking run with the ball down the right flank of the pitch before cutting to the middle and slotting a through ball to Mario Lemina, who nudged home the eventual match-winner.

"We probably ran out of a bit of legs at the end and Wolves scored a couple of good goals," Postecoglou told TNT's Jules Breach following the match. "Its a hard one for us to take, but it is what it is."

The collapse prevented the Spurs from retaking the top spot in the EPL for now, and Arsenal's 3-1 triumph over Burnley dropped Tottenham to third.

The 2023-24 season has been one of change for Spurs, who sold their all-time goal scoring leader Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for $110 million after a lengthy saga between Spurs and Kane over contract negotiations.

Despite losing a player who scored 278 goals in 430 appearances for the club, Postecoglou has Tottenham near the top the league in goals.

With Tottenham fans eager not only to return to relevance at the top of the EPL, they're also hoping to return to the UEFA Champions League after missing out on all European competitions in 2022-23.

But they are entering a difficult stretch of their calendar with games against fifth-place Aston Villa and league-leader Manchester City preceding a London Derby with West Ham United following the international break.

Postecoglou should use his off time wisely.
