In the build-up to Saturday’s Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and Aberdeen at Hampden the former Celtic captain, Scott Brown has been speaking to BBC Scotland.

He’s asked to pick out one particular moment of success from his time at Celtic and Broony has absolutely no hesitation in selecting Tom Rogic’s sensational winner in the 2017 Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen that secured an Invincible Treble for Celtic.

On a personal level that was the first treble of Broony’s glittering career but it would not be the last.

“I’d say Rogic. Tom just does what Tom does. He’s a magician with the ball. He’s managed for some reason, to go on his right foot and I’m thinking ‘ah he’ll scoff it and we’ll get a corner, we’ll be fine’.

“Tom very rarely uses that right foot, it’s for standing on because the other one is an absolute wand, but at this moment in time he’s chopped him, went on the outside and a great finish past Joe Lewis as well who I was a teammate at Aberdeen. I always used to remind Joe about that.

“But at the time it was unbelieved because I remember us all running down by the corner flag, jumping in with the fans and who know who got booked but nobody really cared.

“To have that opportunity of winning the first treble, I had never done it before as a player and I’d seen Celtic teams in the past do it but I’d never done it before as a player. It was unbelievable scenes for the fans and going through the streets and just everything about the whole day.”
