With Andrea Belotti and Marash Kumbulla on their way out of Roma, the Giallorossi are now in talks with Empoli to get their star Tommaso Baldanzi.

Sky Sport Italia claims Belotti and Kumbulla are on the verge of leaving the capital on loan, joining Fiorentina and Sassuolo, respectively and reporter Alessandro Sugoni claims this will help the Giallorossi raise funds for the Baldanzi deal from Empoli.

The promising attacking midfielder has recently scored a decisive goal in an away 1-1 draw against Juventus and Roma want to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico in the current transfer window.

However, due to FFP restrictions, they are unable to match Empoli’s €14-15m asking price so they are working on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Sugoni says Roma will offer a paid loan deal with an obligation to buy, possibly tied to the player’s performances in the second part of the campaign.

The winter transfer window for Serie A clubs ends on February 1 at 19:00 GMT.
