Daniele De Rossi and Roma are gearing up for their Easter Monday clash with Lecce, providing some updates on the state of the squad.

The Giallorossi have been one of the most in-form teams in Serie A following De Rossi’s appointment back in January, winning seven of their last nine league games, only losing to league leaders Inter. The team now sit three points behind fourth-place Bologna.

Roma now have just nine games to try and break hearts in Emilia-Romagna as they look to snipe fourth from Bologna, something that would prove to be an incredible achievement for the mostly untested De Rossi. The former midfielder is expected to pen a new contract in the coming months.

Roma injury updates

As highlighted by Voce Giallorossi, De Rossi had the majority of the Roma squad available to him in today’s training session in Trigoria, starting preparations for the coming match with Lecce.

Romelu Lukaku, Dean Huijsen, Houssem Aouar and Nicola Zalewski all returned from international duty, whilst Bryan Cristante came back following a back issue. Chris Smalling and Paulo Dybala continued to train individually and are being monitored on a daily basis.

Tammy Abraham was also part of the squad and is keen to make his first appearance following the cruciate ligament rupture he suffered in June of last year.
