Phil Jones is preparing to leave Manchester United.

The centre-back has not played for almost 12 months and has only made five appearances in the last three-and-a-half years due to injuries.

None of us need an exclusive report to tell us Jones’ days are numbered at United, but the Daily Mail suggests the 31-year-old could struggle to find a new club and must now decide whether to quit or try and revive his career elsewhere.

After being left out of United’s squad this season, Jones has not featured under Erik ten Hag, and to make matters worse he hasn’t been able to train under the Dutchman.

The report also states that Jones is only likely to be offered a pay-as-you-play contract due to his lengthly spells out with injury.

Things didn’t work out for Jones at United, but he will still leave the club with a Premier League winners’ medal in his pocket.

It’s just a shame he had so many injuries.
