No player in the history of men's international soccer has assisted more goals than Neymar.

The Brazil captain equaled the record previously set by USA legend Landon Donovan by providing the 58th assist of his international career on Thursday night.

Neymar joined Donovan on 58 assists in the 50th minute of Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Venezuela when his corner kick was headed home by Arsenal defender Gabriel.

Thursday's game - which ended 1-1 after Eduard Bello netted a late leveler for Venezuela - was Neymar's 127th appearance for Brazil.

Donovan's 58 assists came in 157 outings for the USMNT between 2000 and 2014.

Only three other men have recorded at least 50 international assists. They are Lionel Messi (53), Ferenc Puskas (53) and Sandor Kocsis (50).

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently on 33 assists for Portugal.
