Manchester City have become the first club to win the Under-18 Premier League three times in a row after beating West Ham 2-1 on Wednesday.

Justin Oboavwoduo scored two goals, including one in extra time, as City came from behind to win the 2023 Premier League U18 National final at the Etihad Stadium.

Gideon Kodua, who netted a stunning goal to help West Ham win the FA Youth Cup last month, opened the scoring on Wednesday.

But Oboavwoduo hit back in the 74th minute before striking again on 102 minutes.

Jaden Heskey, son of former England striker Emile Heskey, played 70 minutes for City in Wednesday's final.

City's U18 head coach Ben Wilkinson told the club's official website: "Yeah, [that was] really, really sweet.

"I think the level of opposition was probably the best we've played over the last couple of years, it was a really difficult game.

"I'm really proud of the players in terms of the way we were trying to play and what we wanted to do.

"I thought we grew stronger as the game went on and am just really proud of what the boys have achieved."

The U18 Premier League was formed in 2012 and has now been won by City on four occasions - in 2016, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The only other club to win the competition more than once is Chelsea, after taking home the title in 2017 and 2018.
