Italian Media Claim Inter Want Clarification From Marcelo Brozovic After Video Emerges Of Midfielder Singing Nazi-Era Chants During Croatia’s Post FIFA World Cup Celebrations

Inter will ask midfielder Marcelo Brozovic for an explanation regarding video footage that emerged of the player singing a Nazi-era nationalistic chant during the Croatian national team’s celebrations after the World Cup.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who also report that there is a possibility of action being taken by FIFA against the 30-year-old and teammate Dejan Lovren.

Video emerged from the Croatia squad’s celebrations after the World Cup, where they finished third, which included Lovren and Zenit Saint Petersburg defender Lovren singing the nationalistic chant “Za Dom Spremni.”

The chant was in use during the Nazi-era Ustase regime in the country, and is considered to have far-right nationalistic implications.

The Nerazzurri will ask Brozovic for clarification regarding the context, considering that the chant could be considered offensive particularly given the club’s aim of standing against racism.
