Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney believes Ange Postecoglou will do great things in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur have played an attacking and attractive brand of football throughout the ongoing season. It has been an impressive first season at the club for Ange Postecoglou as his team sits fourth on the points table and on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League with a handful of games remaining.

The North London club had a dominant start to the season but injuries to key players saw them struggle at one stage. The Australian manager rallied the troops in the best possible way and ensured they kept pushing. The manner in which the former Celtic manager has led Spurs and the brand of football they are playing under him has resulted in praises from Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

The 38-year-old is impressed with how Postecoglou has quickly got his ideas across to his players. He feels the work that the Australian manager had put in during the pre-season with the players is doing wonders for them. He has done great things at Celtic, back in Australia as well as Japan where he has won titles and his start suggests he could do wonders in the Premier League.

Rooney said to Optus Sport: “I think it’s really refreshing because he’s always honest in his interviews as well, whether the team’s done well or whether they haven’t played so well, so I think he’s going to be a top manager in this league.”

The former Manchester United forward has predicted that Postecoglou is going to top manager in the Premier League. He has all the qualities needed to succeed at the top level. He has a great track record and given the kind of start he has had at Spurs, things are expected to get even better with time.
