Angeliño has officially signed for Roma and will soon be joined by Tommaso Baldanzi, but how will the Giallorossi line up in the second part of the season with their latest purchases?

Daniele De Rossi will have two new players available for the second part of the campaign as Roma confirmed the purchase of Spanish left-back Angeliño on an initial loan deal with an option to buy on Tuesday and are preparing to welcome Baldanzi from Empoli.

Badalnzi is one of the most exciting prospects in Italy. A 20-year-old attacking midfielder he’s been dealing with a few physical issues this season, so he’s only scored two goals in 14 Serie A games, but one was against Juventus last week.

De Rossi picked a 4-3-2-1 system in his first two games in charge of Roma with Paulo Dybala and Stephan El Shaarawy deployed behind Romelu Lukaku. Baldanzi will replace one between La Joya and ElSha, playing behind a centre forward on paper.

The same will apply if DDR switches to a three-man defence using a 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1 system.

Likewise, Angeliño can play in a system with three or four defenders, always on the left flank. The Spaniard will likely fight with Leonardo Spinazzola for a starting spot given that Nicola Zalewski appears a backup in De Rossi’s eyes having started both of DDR’s opening games as Roma coach on the bench.

According to Transfermarkt, Angeliño has played 223 games in his career as a left-back and 113 as a left midfielder.
