AC Milan players and fans had to watch on as Inter celebrated the Scudetto on the field after last night’s derby, but there was an attempt to mute the celebrations.

According to what is being reported by Football Italia and other sources who were present at the game, music was played at a high volume at full-time last night in order to try and drown out the chants from the Curva Nord and Inter fans inside the stadium.

Officially there were 7,500 Interisti in the Curva, but there were also a few thousand Nerazzurri supporters who had managed to obtain tickets in the Milan ‘home’ end, though the non-violence pact between the supporters means there would never be any trouble.

According to the report, there was disco and techno music played at a high volume after full-time, and it became ‘louder and louder’ as the celebrations went on.

Milan’s ultras in Curva Sud revealed a banner not long before the game came to an end which mocked Inter and also took a jab at Juventus, stating: “You lose final, steal leagues. You’ve become everything you always hated.”

Milan found themselves behind early on through Francesco Acerbi’s header, then a Marcus Thuram strike started the celebrations. Fikayo Tomori’s late goal restored some hope, but it would prove to be just a consolation as Inter won 2-1.
