‘He’d Be a Perfect Fit’: Fabrizio Romano Believes Arsenal’s Latest £50M Transfer Target Could Be the Solution to Their Attacking Woes

Arsenal entered the January transfer window after a run of disappointing results in the Premier League. After back-to-back losses to fellow London-based clubs West Ham and Fulham, the Gunners find themselves in fourth place in the points table. As per Fabrizio Romano, Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to bring in Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers to further strengthen their attack.

Arsenal Interested in Signing Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto a Perfect Fit for Arsenal

The transfer insider reports that the Gunners are once again being linked with the Portuguese forward after failing to acquire him last year. However, Romano believes that Neto would be a perfect fit for an Arsenal attack that has failed to live up to expectations in recent times. The likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have not reached the heights of the season before.

The 23-year-old has been in fantastic form for Wolves this season. He has provided eight goal contributions across 11 appearances in the league before picking up an unfortunate injury. His direct, exciting style of play can be just what Arsenal needs as they are struggling in the goal-scoring department.

His addition would also provide Saka and Martinelli some valuable rest as Arteta’s men get ready to participate in multiple competitions in the coming year.

Difficult One for January

Despite this interest, the Italian journalist reports that it will be tough for Arsenal to get the deal over the line in the winter transfer window. As a result of the heavy expenditure on the likes of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber in the summer, the Gunners are somewhat restricted in the business they can do in January.

Any deal for the Portuguese international could cost over £50 million as per reports.

Other clubs are also interested in the winger and mere interest does not guarantee that Arsenal will sign the player this month. For now, it seems likely that a summer move for Neto is more likely. However, Romano feels that nothing should be ruled out yet. Depending on whether the Gunners sell a few players in January, they could be active in the transfer market.

Arsenal fans on the other hand will be hoping that their club can sign some players soon that would aid them in the quest for the Premier League title.
