Fabrizio Romano: ‘Incredible’ Arsenal Target’s Agent In Contact With Clubs Over Summer Move

Arsenal are focused on having a strong finish to the 2023/24 season and are well set in the Premier League title race, keeping up with Liverpool and Manchester City. Amid this, Fabrizio Romano has given an interesting update on a player that the Gunners are impressed with.

Arsenal Target Pedro Neto Likely To Leave Wolves In Summer Window

Which Clubs Could Rival Arsenal For Neto?

Romano reports that from what he understands, Pedro Neto is very likely to leave Wolves in the summer transfer window. Even though Gary O’Neil has discussed the possibility of him staying beyond this term, it’s looking much more realistic that he will be moving to a bigger club.

The journalist further states that Neto’s agent is already in contact with some teams that he cannot name. However, Romano further insists that Arsenal are among those to have and appreciation for the winger’s quality.

However, the Gunners could face competition from rivals Tottenham Hotspur, whom the journalist also cites as another side interested in the Wolves winger. Romano also mentions that Liverpool also appreciates the 23-year-old’s quality, but a new sporting director is likely to decide whether or not they make a move for him. It is further added that all mentioned teams have scouted Neto extensively and that the terms of negotiations over a possible transfer will become clearer in the months ahead.

What Could Neto Bring To Arsenal?

Mikel Arteta is already blessed to have a young forward line brimming with quality and potential even after refusing to sign a new striker in January. Bukayo Saka is on fire this season, having scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in all competitions and Gabriel Martinelli has made that left-wing position his own and has 10 goal contributions in this campaign as well.

Neto can, however, bring even more firepower and depth to the squad that can help Arsenal compete strongly for multiple major trophies going forward. The 23-year-old is predominantly a right-winger, but can also play on the left.

Now, becoming a regular in the Arsenal lineup over Saka or Martinelli can be tough, but the Portuguese attacker is probably being scouted as an option to provide more depth and versatility to the squad, as Kai Havertz has done since joining from Chelsea. The Wolves winger, who was hailed as “absolutely incredible” by his manager earlier this season, has scored three goals and provided 11 assists for them this season.
