Emile Heskey says Michael Owen deserves more praise for his achievements

Former Premier League striker Emile Heskey, who earned 62 caps for England, has had his say on Michael Owen. The striker told LADbible that given what Owen has achieved in the game, he should be appreciated more by fans.

The pair played together successfully for both Liverpool and England in the early 2000s. Owen’s pace often complimented Heskey very well and the partnership was very successful. For England, Michael Owen scored 40 goals in 89 appearances at a time when many players struggled in the England national team. He also won the Balon d’Or in 2001 when he was just 22 years old. Mind-blown. Unfortunately for the striker, his early success was cut-short by lengthy injuries and his career eventually fizzled out, stopping Owen from achieving even more in the sport.

Is Heskey right about Owen, or is he suffering from a classic case of nostalgia bias?
