Axel Disasi is the happiest man in London after derby win
ANP

Axel Disasi spoke to the Chelsea official website after last night’s win over Tottenham, and you won’t quite believe how many times he says he’s “happy” with the results and the performance.

“I think it was a crazy game, especially in the first half,’ admitted Disasi. ‘The first half was a little bit strange because every time something happened the VAR was there checking. So we’re happy to win this game because we needed to get some points. We are very happy,” the defender said.

“For me, it was my first London derby against Tottenham and the atmosphere was crazy, it was top. At the end, at the final whistle, the fans and the players were so happy, so it was good.

“We know that the fans want us to win every game, especially in this moment because we don’t win so many games. But I think today, after this win, they are happy. We are happy also and now we have to take a rest and prepare for a big game again on Sunday.”

We’re delighted to hear it. We want the player to be happy when they win (especially against Tottenham) and unhappy when they lose (especially against Tottenham).

Disasi had a strange game, given that he was under intense pressure until the first red card, and then was largely used purely in an attacking mode, like the rest of the team, once Spurs were at 9 men.

The good news for him is that Mauricio Pochettino’s commitment to him remains solid, even with Benoit Badiashile fit again. Injuries all around him in the squad have meant that he’s had an unexpected run at first team action, and he’s really made the most of it in terms of securing his manager’s trust.
