Three NHL SOG plays for Tuesday, Nov. 28

We've got a much larger slate on our hands tonight in the NHL, which has brought up more than enough options for us to consider. I've done my passes and have settled on these three looks at plus-money as some of my favorite plays tonight. Let's dig in, and cheers to some shots on goal.

Jack Hughes over 4.5 SOG (+100 DK)

Since his return from injury, Jack Hughes has been humming along, logging SOG totals of eight, one, eight and six. He had six SOG earlier this season against the New York Islanders, a team letting up nearly 35 shots per game on the road over the past month.

This is volume worth backing, and I'll take a bite out of Hughes up at this 4.5 line. By all means, move him down to 4+ if you want.

Pavel Buchnevich over 2.5 SOG (+125 ESPN)

It's worth noting here that the Minnesota Wild just fired their coach. Perhaps they magically clean up their mistakes overnight, but I'm willing to continue targeting what has been their biggest issue of late: the penalties.

The Wild are handing out 4.4 power play opportunities per game over the past 20 days, the highest mark in the league.

In slots Pavel Buchnevich, who is leading the Blues in PP shots over the last 10 games. He's also over this 2.5 line in five of his last six games and nine of his past 10 on the road.

Carter Verhaeghe (FLA) & Steven Stamkos (TB) over 2.5 SOG (+160 DK)

Carter Verhaeghe is over in 17 of 21 games this season, eight of his last nine road games and nine of his last 10 games played on 0 days rest. He's also finished with four SOG in two straight games against Toronto, a team allowing nearly 32 shots per game at home over the last month.

I'll pair with Tampa's Steven Stamkos, who has 17 power play shots in his last 10, a role that should benefit him here against an Arizona team averaging 3.8 power play opportunities allowed per game. Stamkos has gone over in four straight against the Coyotes, three times finishing with 4+.
