Predators sign Kevin Lankinen, Mark Jankowski to one-year contracts

The Nashville Predators have signed goaltender Kevin Lankinen and forward Mark Jankowski to one-year contracts, the club announced Thursday.

Lankinen’s contract carries a $1.5 million cap hit, while Jankowski’s two-way deal is worth $750,000 in the National Hockey League.

The Predators also announced the signings of forwards Kiefer Sherwood and Cole Smith, as well as defensemen Jordan Gross, Roland McKeown and Kevin Gravel, on Thursday.

Lankinen, 27, posted an 8-15-6 record and an .891 save percentage in 32 games with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2021–22.

The undrafted 6-foot-2 Finnish goaltender made his NHL debut with Chicago in 2020-21, going 17-14-5 with two shutouts and a .909 save percentage in 37 appearances with the team.

Jankowski, 27, split the 2021-22 season between the Buffalo Sabres and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

The 6-foot-4, 212-pound left-handed center scored two goals and five points in 19 NHL games with Buffalo. He also racked up 10 goals and 27 points in 32 regular-season games with Rochester, adding six goals and seven points in 10 games during the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Calgary Flames originally selected Jankowski in the first round (No. 21 overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft. In 272 career regular-season games with the Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and Sabres, Jankowski has scored 42 goals and 80 points.
