During the first period of Thursday night's game, a scary situation unfolded as Tavares fell to the ice and was accidentally hit in the head by Canadiens forward Corey Perry.
Perry said after the game that what happened to Tavares made him feel "sick to his stomach."
Tavares was stretchered off the ice and taken to a local Toronto hospital, where he underwent a CT Scan and MRI that both came back clear.
Dubas added that the 31-year-old was "thankfully cleared of all structural damage to his head, neck and spine, which was a major concern at the time of the incident."
