Ducks Reportedly Signing Forward Alex Killorn to a 4-Year Deal

Killorn has been a mainstay with the Tampa Bay Lightning throughout his entire 11-year NHL career. In the 2022-23 season, the Halifax native showcased his offensive prowess by tallying 27 goals and 37 assists in 82 games. Although the Lightning faced an early exit in the playoffs, Killorn contributed three goals and two assists in the first-round series against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 33-year-old forward is coming off a previous seven-year contract worth $31 million, with an AAV of $4.450 million, which he signed in 2016. Now, as he hits free agency, Killorn has attracted interest from multiple teams, including the Ducks.

Since being drafted in the third round, 77th overall, by Tampa in 2007, Killorn has established himself as a reliable offensive threat. Throughout his career, he has recorded 198 goals and 268 assists in 805 regular-season games.

While the Lightning would have liked to retain Killorn’s services, it appears that he may secure a more lucrative deal elsewhere. If the reported agreement with the Ducks comes to fruition, Killorn will add experience and offensive firepower to Anaheim’s roster.
