Which teams could follow Steelers and make a QB change?

This NFL season began without a rookie quarterback as starter for the first time since 2007, but the drought could end in Week 5.

First-round pick Kenny Pickett replaced Mitch Trubisky midway through the Pittsburgh Steelers' loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, and while Mike Tomlin refused to commit to a starter, the writing is on the wall. Four weeks into the season, who else might make a change at quarterback?

The Atlanta Falcons are a team to monitor. They likely won't be making a change after back-to-back wins, but Marcus Mariota struggled mightily against the Browns on Sunday, finishing 7-of-19 for 139 yards and an interception.

Head coach Arthur Smith called 14 consecutive run plays after Mariota's interception on Sunday, potentially signaling a lack of confidence in his quarterback. If the Falcons believe Mariota is limiting the ceiling of the team, rookie Desmond Ridder could become an option.

Andy Dalton played well in place of an injured Jameis Winston for the Saints in Sunday's narrow loss to the Vikings. At the very least, Dalton allows the Saints to ease Winston back into action. Given how much the former No. 1 pick has struggled with turnovers this season, Dennis Allen could give serious consideration to a change if the season goes south with Winston.

Baker Mayfield has gotten off to a forgettable start to his tenure with the Panthers. His 75 passer rating is third worst among quarterbacks with four starts this season, leading only Trubisky and Justin Fields. Matt Rhule didn't commit to Mayfield as his starter on Sunday, but he clarified on Monday that he'll remain the starter in Week 5. The biggest factor? Sam Darnold is still not ready to return from a left ankle sprain.

Davis Mills has had turnover issues for the Texans, who are the NFL's only winless team through four weeks. Still, Houston seemed committed to letting Mills play out the season and didn't add a high-end backup in the offseason. With only Kyle Allen and Jeff Driskel behind him, Mills doesn't appear to be at risk of a benching.

Carson Wentz is coming off two rough games for the Commanders and has five interceptions in four games, but Washington is similarly low on options. The franchise was eager to move on from Taylor Heinicke as its starter in the offseason and might not be quick to move back to him. If the losses keep piling up for the 1-3 Commanders, it's possible head coach Ron Rivera may not have a choice.
