Where does Jonathan Taylor extension leave Zack Moss' fantasy value?

On Saturday, big NFL news came out of Indianapolis, as the Colts announced a contract extension for star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor, who missed the first four games of the season after being placed on the physically unable to perform list, was holding out for a big extension, which he received in a three-year, $42 million deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

While Colts fans and Taylor supporters are surely thrilled with his deal, which includes $26.5 million guaranteed, there's one group who's likely less than enthused: fantasy football players who drafted Zack Moss.

The Indy running back has played in three of the 2-2 Colts' four games, racking up at least 70 yards in each contest.

And while it's true he has only two touchdowns — one rushing and one through the air — he's averaging 4.2 yards per carry.

Moss is performing best in big games, such as the 22-19 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens. He garnered 122 yards on the ground on 30 carries, with another 23 yards on two catches, including one for a score.

With that production, many fantasy football players had used Moss as a steady performer with a good chance to provide a starter's production. Fantasy analyst Matthew Berry had him as a "high-end RB2" in Taylor's absence.

With Taylor back, however, Moss' touches are likely to decrease significantly, and along with them, his fantasy value. ESPN's Field Yates said he wouldn't even play Moss in fantasy this week.

While fantasy owners may have thought they found a steal in Moss through the first few weeks of the season, his production will most likely come back down to expectations. Trade for Taylor if you can, fantasy fans.
