What the Browns Offense Will Face Sunday Against the Seahawks
Mandatory Credit: Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

PJ Walker will be starting again for the Cleveland Browns at quarterback. This will be the third game started by a Browns backup quarterback in the last four times out for Cleveland.

Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks will be a very tough challenge for this Browns offense. Not only is it the furthest travel that the Browns will have this season but the Seahawks defense features enough playmakers to give Cleveland problems.

One of the big areas of focus for the Seahawks this offseason was shoring up their defensive line. They did this with a total overhaul of the group and brought in a number of new faces that are already paying dividends.

The group that features Cleveland Native Dre'Mont Jones, Jarran Reed, and Mario Edwards Jr. is the front line on a defense that is 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards per play at 3.49 and 5th in sacks with 23.

The Linebacking core is led by future Hall-of-Famer Bobby Wagner. Wagner mans the middle of their defense and is helped by Uchenna Nwosu, Boye Mafe, and Jordan Brooks

Schematically, the Seahawks are a base 3-4 team that will look very similar to the Steelers defense. The outside linebackers, Nwosu and Mafe, will look more like defensive ends than linebackers. Think TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith.

Those names should make you shiver. While Nwosu and Mafe may not be of the caliber of those guys, this defensive scheme presents a unique set of problems that the Browns offensive line will have to be ready for.

The Seahawk secondary is a group that is full of playmakers. Safeties Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs, and Julian Love are all savvy veterans who have played a lot of good football in their careers.

The cornerback group is very opportunistic and they are led by rookie Devon Witherspoon who is having an awesome start to his career. He is flanked by Riq Woolen and Tre Brown who are both more than capable of making plays and changing the game.

The Seahawks will enter Sunday with the 12th-best defense in the NFL in yards given up and points against. They have the ability to stop teams, but they are not perfect.

The Browns will have to start quickly on Sunday and put together a complete 60-minute performance to send the 12's home with a loss.
