Vikings request to interview Rams DC Raheem Morris for head-coaching post

The Minnesota Vikings have been among a handful of NFL teams furiously scouring the market this month to fill their vacancies at head coach and general manager. The organization fired Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman from those respective posts last week.

A new name has been added to the mix for possible head-coaching duties:

Morris' Rams defeated the Arizona Cardinals in an NFC wild-card playoff game on Monday night. No. 4 Los Angeles will take on the second-seeded Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC divisional round at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Morris served as the Buccaneers' head coach from 2009 to 2011, posting a 17-31 record. He was then an assistant with Washington and the Atlanta Falcons before taking over as Atlanta's head coach for the final 11 games of the 2020 season, posting a 4-7 record.

In 59 career NFL games as a head coach, the 45-year-old has a 21-38 mark.
