MAR 10 BUD GRANT PASSES AWAY The NFL world has lost an icon.

Bud Grant, the Hall of Fame coach who led the Minnesota Vikings to four Super Bowl appearances, has died at the age of 95, the Vikings announced.

"We are absolutely devastated to announce legendary Minnesota Vikings head coach and Hall of Famer Bud Grant has passed away this morning at age 95. We, like all Vikings and NFL fans, are shocked and saddened by this terrible news."

Grant coached the Vikings from 1967-85 (taking a year off in 1984) and was a consultant for the team from 1986-2022.

MAR 9 D.C. BILLIONAIRE MAKING PLAY FOR COMMANDERS The saga of the sale of the Washington Commanders has taken another turn.

According to ESPN, Washington D.C. billionaire Mitchell Rales is looking to partner with Josh Harris, owner of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, to make an offer to Commanders owner Dan Snyder to purchase the franchise.

Rales and Harris join Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta among the known prospective owners interested in buying the team.

MAR 8 BRIAN ROBINSON JR. SHOOTER SENTENCED The teenager who shot Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. in August received his sentencing for his crimes Wednesday after pleading guilty back in January.

The 15-year-old boy received the maximum sentence for a minor and he will be in custody until he turns 21.

In addition, the boy was also charged in connection to the death of 15-year-old Andre Robertson Jr on Oct. 13.

MAR 7 LAMAR TAGGED BY RAVENS The Baltimore Ravens used their non-exclusive tag on Lamar Jackson, allowing them to match any offer he could sign from the other 31 teams.

Should Jackson sign with any team other than the Ravens, Baltimore will either match the contract or receive two first-round picks in return.

With uncertainty surrounding the Washington Commanders' quarterback situation, the team could be interested in signing the 2019 NFL MVP to a deal.

MAR 6 DEREK CARR TO SAINTS The New Orleans Saints and Derek Carr are the first dominoes to fall in the quarterback free agency carousel.

According to NFL Network, the Saints are close to an agreement with former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

The move reunites Carr with head coach Dennis Allen, who helped draft him while he was coaching the Raiders in 2014.

MAR 5 DAN SNYDER REPORTEDLY $1B IN DEBT On a recent episode of "Conduct Detrimental: The Sports Law Podcast," ESPN legal expert Don Van Natta Jr. joins the show to discuss Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder and his current legal troubles while supposedly attempting to sell the franchise.

During the episode, it is revealed that Snyder and the Commanders may own up to $1 billion to Bank of America.

You can listen to the episode here.

MAR 3 LAMAR TO COMMANDERS PRANK On the latest episode of Barstool Sports podcast "Pardon My Take," ESPN insider Adam Schefter tried breaking the potential story of the offseason to hosts Big Cat and PFT.

PFT Commenter, a massive Washington Commanders fan, was beside himself when Schefter showed him texts that confirmed a trade for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

However, the texts proved to be fake and Schefter built up the drama for entertainment. But maybe this "prank" can turn into reality and the Commanders can get the last laugh when it's all said and done.

MAR 2 ZAMPESE MOVE The Commanders hired Eric Bieniemy as the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, and they've done some shuffling on the organizational chart beneath him.

The Commanders named former Stanford offensive coordinator Tavita Pritchard as the team’s new quarterbacks coach while re-assigning coach Ken Zampese to a job with the title of "senior offensive assistant.''

Zampese was among the eight candidates who interviewed with head coach Ron Rivera for the Commanders offensive coordinator job - vacated with the firing of Scott Turner - that went to Bieniemy.

FEB 28 SNYDER LOAN TRIGGERS JAIL TIME? Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder is in hot water again after it was revealed by ESPN that he allegedly had a $55 million line of credit taken out with no approval from the minority owners of the team.

"Three billionaires -- not a few whistleblowers -- alleged to the NFL arbitrator that their partner had possibly committed bank fraud," the source told ESPN. "This is jail time type of fraud. The NFL owes them as much of a fair shake as it owes Snyder. And the league had no interest in finding out what happened. They buried it and didn't investigate it and covered it up."

The NFL's lack of action against Snyder in this issue could put the league in a lot of trouble as well once further legal action takes place.

FEB 25 FERTITTA ENTERS FRAY FOR COMMANDERS According to The Washington Post, Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta has submitted a bid to Dan Snyder to purchase the Washington Commanders.

Fertitta joins Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as the known people with interest in purchasing the Commanders. However, there are reportedly other buyers in the mix that have not been identified yet.

Snyder continues to be disinterested in selling to Bezos, per numerous reports.

FEB 24 MAYO, WILLIAMS EXTENDED BY COMMANDERS The Washington Commanders are holding on to a pair of depth pieces for next season.

The team announced that linebacker David Mayo and running back Jonathan Williams have received contract extensions for next season.

Mayo recorded 34 tackles and a sack, while Williams ran for 152 yards last season.

FEB 19 DEANGELO HALL TO PANTHERS COACHING STAFF Former Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall is leaving the broadcast booth for the sideline.

According to NFL Network, Hall is joining the Carolina Panthers as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Hall, 39, was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and played his first four NFL seasons there. In 2008, Hall was traded to the Oakland Raiders but was cut in the middle of the season. He shortly signed with Washington a few days after leaving the Raiders and stayed in the nation's capital before retiring in 2017.

After his retirement, Hall held a couple of broadcast positions, including a radio gig covering Washington games, but now he's moving into the coaching game.

FEB 16 COMMANDERS WR COACH TO CARDINALS? New Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon is trying to build his staff, and he may look towards a Washington Commanders assistant to help him out.

According to NFL Network, the Cardinals have requested to interview wide receivers coach Drew Terrell.

Terrell, 31, has been serving on Ron Rivera's staff since 2018 while he was with the Carolina Panthers.

An Arizona native, Terrell would return home if hired by the Cardinals.

FEB 12 SUPER BOWL ENDS IN CONTROVERSY, CHIEFS WIN The Kansas City Chiefs are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after a 38-35 win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The game was one of the Super Bowl's most entertaining games, coming down to the final drive.

In the red zone, the Chiefs drove down inside of field goal range to take the lead with just under two minutes to go. On 3rd-and-8 with just under two minutes to go, Eagles cornerback James Bradberry IV was called for holding on Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Harrison Butker knocked down the game-winning field goal with just seconds to go, leading to a Chiefs Super Bowl win.

FEB 9 SNYDER WANTS BILLIONS! Most people will never make a billion dollars in their lifetime. But Dan Snyder doesn't want that to be his life. He's looking to make a few billion dollars off of selling the Washington Commanders ... seven in fact!

Per Front Office Sports, Snyder is seeking a $7 billion bid for the Commanders, which he hopes to sell sometime between the Super Bowl and the league's owner meetings in March.

Snyder received a $6.3 billion bid in December but is hoping the widespread interest will help him get that number to an even $7 billion.

FEB 8 EB'S CHOICE? Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is out of contract after his coaches against the Eagles in the Super Bowl and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it's the Commanders and Ravens who consider Bieniemy a "prime candidate" for their coordinator openings.

Which spot is more attractive? It might depend on two things: One, where does he have more authority to call plays, something that isn't central to his role in Kansas City? And two, Bieniemy would logically like to join a team with a star QB in place.

Washington doesn't have that. But Baltimore only has it if the Ravens and free agent Lamar Jackson settle on a contract, something the two sides have been wrestling with for almost two years.

FEB 6 SNYDER HOME ON MARKET Another sign that Dan Snyder is planning on selling the Washington Commanders has come to fruition.

According to Washington Business Journal, Snyder's home in Potomac has hit the real estate market for a pricy $49 million.

Rumors of Snyder selling the Commanders have been circulating for months, and this is probably one of the biggest signs that he is ready to move on from Washington.

First comes the home, then comes the franchise?

FEB 3 EB TO DC? The Commanders and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy? Makes sense.

Commanders owner Dan Snyder paying him top-dollar? Makes for ... debate.

According to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay, Bieniemy could land a salary “north of $2.5 million.” ... and there will be competition for his services, presumably at such a price.

Head coach Ron Rivera recently met with owner Dan Snyder and the idea of a staff “budget” came up; that is not unusual - they are after all running a business here. But what makes this situation unusual is that the Commanders are up for sale.

So ... would Snyder write a giant check for a coordinator who might not be "his coordinator''?

As with so many other things at Commanders QB, it's complicated.

FEB 2 RIVERA AT PEBBLE BEACH Washington Commanders coach Ron Rivera is trading his headset and playbook for a set of golf clubs this weekend at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament.

Rivera is among 33 celebrities participating in the event. Other celebrities include NFL quarterbacks Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers and even former Washington signal caller Alex Smith, but even those outside of the gridiron are taking part.

Actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Bill Murray are taking part and musicians Macklemore and Darius Rucker are also on the lineup.

FEB 1 BEATHARD PASSES Bobby Beathard, the long-time NFL executive and architect of title teams in Washington, has died at the age of 86.

A 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Beathard was involved with the 1972 Dolphins team that finished undefeated, and enjoyed his grandest success in Washington, where he won two Super Bowls as he served as general manager from 1978 to 1988 during the era of coach Joe Gibbs in 1981.

Washington won the Super Bowl in 1982 and 1987.
