Is it March? Yes, it is. Are position battles already underway? Absolutely. The New Orleans Saints have an intriguing competition at fullback before the NFL Draft even gets underway.
The Saints kept fullback Adam Prentice from last season. They also signed Zander Horvath as another option for the position.
Prentice did not get any guaranteed money and neither did Zander Horvath.

The fullback battle is starting on even financial ground. https://t.co/VPqgDRvb2j
The contracts tell the story. The Saints are not tying themselves to one fullback or the other.
They will see how it plays out throughout training camp and the preseason. With a new offensive scheme, don't be shocked to see the Saints go in a new direction at fullback.
Klint Kubiak's offense uses their fullback more often than New Orleans has in the past. Accordingly, this is a bigger decision than you may think for the Saints offense in 2024 and beyond.
