Steelers' Antonio Brown Adds More Fuel To The Fire With Pittsburgh Great Hines Ward

Brown wasn't done whining just yet. Another notable jersey number that has been kept under guard in Pittsburgh is 86, which of course has not been worn by anyone since the famous Hines Ward. Since Ward retired over a decade ago in 2012, no one has worn the double digits. Brown lashed out once again regarding Patterson's number by referencing him returning to Pittsburgh to wear Ward's number. 

Brown, seemingly sensitive to the number giveaway, comments that if his number can be given away, then others should also lose their right to keep a number. By this, the diva sarcastically says he'll return to the Steel City and play for free just to wear Ward's number. A reunion between Brown and the Steelers is nonexistent, something that would never happen. Brown's antics have continued over the years on social media ever since he started out as a cancer in the locker room. 

Brown's antics on X will continue and more drama will arise in the foreseen future. It seems that is the only way to entertain himself at this point, as he will more than likely never see the field again. 

Steelers' New Additions Number Assignments

Aside from the Patterson-Brown drama, a few new intriguing Steelers have released their number selections for the upcoming season. New linebacker Patrick Queen wore number six in three of his four years with the Baltimore Ravens. Since the new single digit number rule changed, the Steelers have not been as lenient as others on letting certain positions wear a single digit. 

There were question marks wondering if they would finally allow someone like Queen to keep his number as a single digit. The Steelers did in fact decide to spice it up for a change, as Queen will walk out onto the field with the black and gold defense wearing number 6. 

Another very exciting new member for the Steelers, Justin Fields, has worn number 1 his entire career. Though, that number is also unofficially retired, like Ward's number. Fields decided to go with the next best thing and chose number two, who has been worn by Mason Rudolph over the past few years.
