Saints WR Deonte Harris suspended three games for DUI arrest following appeal

It was learned in late November that New Orleans Saints wide receiver/kick returner Deonte Harris was appealing a three-game suspension stemming from his driving under the influence arrest in July.

The outcome of that appeal is now known.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed Monday that Harris is officially suspended three games without pay. While Harris was able to play during his appeal per league rules, he's now ineligible to take the field for the 5-7 Saints through Week 16.

He can return for the Week 17 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Jan. 2.

According to the NFL's website, Harris ultimately received one year of supervised probation after he pleaded not guilty to DUI but agreed to a statement of facts. His probation runs until Nov. 8, 2022.

Per ESPN stats, Harris leads the Saints with 523 receiving yards, and he's second on the team with 31 catches and 53 targets. He's tied for third among New Orleans players with three receiving touchdowns.

New Orleans has dropped five straight games and is on track to have Taysom Hill starting at quarterback at the New York Jets this coming Sunday despite an injury to the middle finger of his throwing hand he suffered in this past Thursday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
