Saints rule All-Pro RB Alvin Kamara (knee) out vs. Titans

It was learned on Thursday that the 5-3 New Orleans Saints could be without All-Pro running back Alvin Kamara for Sunday's game at the 7-2 Tennessee Titans because of a knee injury he picked up in last Sunday's 27-25 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Per Mike Triplett of ESPN, Saints coach Sean Payton confirmed Friday he'll be without Kamara this weekend. Additionally, left tackle Terron Armstead (knee, shoulder) and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson (foot) also won't play.

"A knee injury that he's rehabbing [to return] as quickly as he can get back," Payton said of Kamara's setback.

It's another brutal blow for a Saints team that already lost starting quarterback Jameis Winston for the season, is without star wide receiver Michael Thomas for all of the current campaign and missed out on landing big-name receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who officially joined the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday.

The Saints reportedly attempted to acquire Beckham from the Cleveland Browns before the Nov. 2 trade deadline. New Orleans did, however, bring ball-carrier Mark Ingram back home in late October, and he could be the Saints' RB1 against Tennessee.

As noted by John DeShazier of the Saints' website, Ingram is 20 yards away from becoming the franchise's all-time leading rusher.

"I am ready for a whole load at all times, that is what I prepare for," Ingram said. "That is what I do. That is what I'm built for."
