Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was one of the heroes of Week 2 of the 2022 NFL season, as he helped his team erase a 20-0 deficit en route to earning a thrilling 29-23 overtime win at the Las Vegas Raiders to improve to 1-1 on the young campaign.
It appears Murray's post-game celebration was not without some controversy.
Per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN) and Andrew Joseph of For The Win/USA Today, Las Vegas police spokesman and officer Larry Hadfield has confirmed that authorities are investigating an allegation that a fan struck Murray shortly after the contest ended.
Arizona cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. scooped up a fumble and returned it 59 yards to the house for a walk-off touchdown with slightly under four minutes left in the extra period:

Murray spotted some Arizona fans in the front row of the field-level club at Allegiant Stadium and started high-fiving spectators. A slowed-down video of the incident shared on Twitter seems to show a man slapping Murray in the face with his hand:
@Raiders @NFL this is absolutely disgusting. Dude in the grey shirt needs to be banned from stadiums for life. Hits Kyler murray in the face on purpose and then tries to hide as you can see in this video….DISGUSTING. BAN HIM FOR LIFE. EVERYONE Retweet this out so it gets seen‼️ pic.twitter.com/FhI8xQoNwS

Murray was not seriously injured, and Hadfield confirmed that a battery complaint was made. The allegation states that "a spectator at the stadium struck a professional football player" but does not directly name Murray.
Murray completed 31-of-49 passes for 277 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the victory, and he also added 28 yards and a score on five carries.
The Cardinals next host the 1-1 Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday.
