Patriots HC Bill Belichick answers Taylor Swift question in predictable fashion

Bill Belichick's New England Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. That means one of the biggest questions on everybody's minds over the next few days will be whether Taylor Swift will be in attendance for the game to support her significant other, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The Patriots head coach was asked about the 12-time Grammy Award winner on Monday and predictably avoided the topic.

For any NFL fan who's seen clips of Belichick interviews over the last two-plus decades, it's clear that the six-time Super Bowl champion usually doesn't have much time (or interest) to discuss anything other than football. Belichick is also typically a man of few words, so any "Swiftie" tuning in to get the 71-year-old's thoughts on the singer-songwriter was likely going to be disappointed.

This isn't the first time this year when Belichick has been asked about Swift, however, and he had surprisingly given some interesting comments the last couple of times.

Following the "You Belong with Me" singer's concert at Gillette Stadium (home of the Patriots) in August during a heavy rainstorm, Belichick informed fans that he attended the show and was impressed with her performance in the elements.

"That was pretty impressive," he said. "She is tough, man. She just stood out there and played right through (the rain)."

Then in September, Belichick said this regarding the then-rumors of a relationship between Kelce and Swift.

"Well, I would say that Travis Kelce has had a lot of big catches in his career. This would be the biggest," the three-time AP Coach of the Year said.

There are two notable differences this week that may be behind Belichick's lack of a response to the Swift questions.

First, when he was asked about the 33-year-old celebrity earlier in the year, it wasn't in the week leading up to a game against Kansas City. It also probably doesn't help that New England is in the midst of a historically rough season, entering the Week 15 contest at 3-10.
