A former teammate of Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers eviscerated the New York Jets quarterback on social media.
The Jets are starting their training camp this week, about a week earlier than the rest of the league, as they play in the Hall of Fame preseason game in two weeks. The Jets released photos of several new players this season, including Rodgers, in their green and white game uniforms.
Fans on social media had strong opinions on how Rodgers looked in a Jets uniform. One key trope on Twitter was fans comparing Rodgers to other aging stars in sports history who looked weird putting on another team’s uniform. Think Joe Montana with the Kansas City Chiefs or Patrick Ewing with the Seattle SuperSonics.
Packers star returner Keisean Nixon got in on the fun as well:

The tweet, of course, references all-time NBA great Michael Jordan closing his playing career with the Washington Wizards after a legendary career with the Chicago Bulls.
Rodgers will indeed look weird in a Jets uniform this season. After nearly two decades of seeing No. 12 in a Packers uniform, my eyes had to adjust to the look. Now it’s No. 8 in a Jets uniform.
He also looks old. Whoever edited the photo didn't intend to make Rodgers look any younger than the 39-year-old gunslinger he is this season. The Jets hope he plays younger than he looks and that the team has a better conclusion to its story than Montana with the Chiefs.
