Eli Apple and the Cincinnati Bengals are on their way to the AFC Championship game for the second year in a row. They will be facing the Kansas City Chiefs, also for the second year in a row. The Bengals reached the AFC title game by defeating the Buffalo Bills in convincing fashion on Sunday night. The drama, however, did not stop when the clock hit 0:00.
During the game, Bills stars Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen were seen having a heated argument:

In an effort to rub salt in the wound, Bengals defensive back Eli Apple posted this:
Someone get them in couples therapy @JoshAllenQB and @stefondiggs I’ll pay on God https://t.co/MIOzAuWdbF

Funny. Nothing inherently wrong with it. However, Apple continued to go after Diggs, and in the process took a shot at Demar Hamlin. Hamlin, as everyone knows, survived cardiac arrest when these two teams met in the regular season. The photo of him making a heart with his hands to show love to all his supporters has become a well-known symbol around the NFL. Apple, though, used it to take a shot at the Bills:

In reaction to Apple’s appalling Tweet, NFL players and fans have expressed outrage on social media. Here is a small sample of the kinds of comments directed at Apple:
oh Eli Apple went full FULL villain huh

I would like to personally thank Eli Apple for quickly moving all of BillsMafia on from anger/disappointment/grief over the game to uniting over the single cause of hating him.

Eli Apple is really going to make me pull for Kansas City, isn’t he?

If Eli Apple’s game matched his Twitter swagger dude would be a Hall of Famer. The highest level of pettiness. Lol
