Luke Masterson is a Money Year Player for the Raiders

Many Las Vegas players are entering the next 2024-25 NFL season as money-year players on both the offense and defense for the Silver and Black.

In a recent Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast, our own Hondo Carpenter Sr went over the possible dangers in trading up in this year's 2024 NFL Draft and all the money-year players on the Raiders' current roster.

One of the money-year players discussed was linebacker Luke Masterson from Wake Forest University.

This upcoming season will be Masterson's third season as a linebacker for the Silver and Black defense. In his sophomore season with the Raiders, Masterson finished with 19 solo tackles, six assists, and two forced fumbles. In playing 182 snaps during the 2023-24 NFL regular season, Masterson finished with a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 86.9, a run defense grade of 88.7, and a pass rush grade of 54.1. He also finished with a coverage grade of 76.2.

Masterson has a career total of 47 solo tackles and 39 assists in 33 games for the Raiders defense.

Carpenter had the chance to share his thoughts on Masterson in the most recent Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast.

"I like him a lot; I like him personally, just his style. He and Zamir are two quiet guys who go about their business and do their job. He has shown a lot of flashes. Divine Diablo is older than him, and he and Spillane came on, but Luke did a lot, too."

"He's a Swiss army knife guy. I think he has a shot at being the next Robert Spillane, but I like Masterson, and I am buying him on another money year."
