LB Patrick Queen reveals Steeler he 'hated playing' as a Raven

Linebacker Patrick Queen is switching sides in the Steelers-Ravens AFC North rivalry, officially signing his three-year deal with Pittsburgh on Friday.

However, before Queen suits up in the black and gold for the first time, he had one last thing to get off his chest. During his introductory press conference, he was asked if he had a personal rivalry with anyone in the Steelers locker room from his time in Baltimore.

His response: "Mr. Warren."

Queen is clearly referring to running back Jaylen Warren, an undrafted rookie in 2022 and one of Pittsburgh's budding stars on offense. Queen is happy he gets to play with him instead of against him now.

"He's a hell of a running back," Queen told reporters. "I definitely hated playing against him. Personally, I hated him. But at the end of the day, it's all love. I do respect his game. I do respect him as a person. I just can't wait to play with someone like that."

It may come as a surprise to some as running back Najee Harris, the Steelers' 2021 first-round pick, highlights the room. But there's no arguing how dynamic Warren has been for Pittsburgh the past couple of years.

From 2022-23, Warren has rushed for 1,163 yards and five touchdowns while adding 89 receptions for 584 yards through the air.

Both backs have been productive. So, what makes Warren stand out over Harris?

Queen says his "low center of gravity."

Warren has proven to be very difficult to bring down despite standing at 5-foot-8 and 215 pounds.

However, the main takeaway should be that Pittsburgh has one of the best running back duos in the league in Harris and Warren, and that should only continue in the 2024 season.

As for Queen, he's happy to be on the other side of the rivalry. Although his focus must now shift from bringing down Warren to taking down Derrick Henry, who signed a two-year deal with the Ravens in free agency.
