Former star Texans WRs to Watson: Stand your ground

Former star Texans WRs Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins share brutal advice with Deshaun Watson

On Tuesday, it was reported that the Houston Texans finally put in an interview request for Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. The move came after reports surfaced that star quarterback Deshaun Watson could force a trade from the franchise.

Watson reportedly had Bieniemy at the top of his coaching list, but the Texans failed to bring him in for an interview before it was reported that the 25-year-old was disgruntled with the club.

With the request finally in place, it seems the Texans are just trying to appease Watson and mend the crack in their relationship. However, one former player believes Watson should "stand his ground."

On Tuesday, former Houston Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson shared some harsh but honest advice with Watson while bashing the Texans organization for "ruining player's careers."

Johnson is one of the best players ever to put on the Texans uniform, so his comments hold immense value. In 12 seasons with the franchise, Johnson reeled in 1,012 receptions for 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns.

The 39-year-old also rarely shares his opinions on social media, with his last tweet that wasn't an advertisement coming in April 2019, making his message for Watson even more important.

DeAndre Hopkins, who was traded from the Texans to the Arizona Cardinals, also echoed Johnson's thoughts in a tweet of his own.

As you can tell, things aren't going very well in Houston right now.

It would be a mistake for the Texans to trade Watson, but they might not have a choice if the Clemson product is unhappy. If he were made available in discussions, the franchise would likely be looking for a top draft pick in exchange for the QB.
