Former Packers All-Pro WR is frustrated with the lack of success in Las Vegas
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro WR Davante Adams has no time for a rebuild.

Adams, speaking to reporters after the Raiders 23-18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, is imploring the team to do whatever it can to win. This is coming off a big-time performance for Adams, who had 13 receptions, 172 yards, and two touchdowns.

But it wasn’t enough, late game mismanagement by Head Coach Josh McDaniels where he decided to kick a field goal down by eight, and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw three interceptions, including his last pass of the night intended for Adams, which Steelers DB Levi Wallace picked off.

Adams talked about what he needs to see moving forward for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams wants to see improvement from the team.

Las Vegas Raiders star WR Davante Adams voiced his frustration after the Raiders, 23-18 loss to the Steelers.

“I don’t want to act like it’s all crazy, but it’s Week 3 I don’t time to wait around.” Adams said. “It’s not my mentality to sit here to try to take all season and figure it out…

“Use their other games to try and establish our identity, and we not doing things the right way to establish a winning culture early in the season so we got to do something to turn that around.”

It’s been a frustrating tenure for Adams in Las Vegas. He hasn’t enjoyed the success he had with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. The Raiders have been one of the most dysfunctional franchises for the past 20 years,  and most fans felt that while Adams would put up identical numbers, he would never win in Las Vegas like he did in Green Bay.

He also has the misfortune of playing for two quarterbacks who will never measure to Aaron Rodgers. When he forced his way to Las Vegas to play with his college quarterback Derek Carr, it was accepted but now, with four years left on his deal and Derek Carr leaving Las Vegas to sign with the Saints in free agency, he’s stuck playing with a quarterback who won’t lead them anywhere outside of 6-7 wins.

Will the Las Vegas Raiders trade Davante Adams to the Green Bay Packers?

Adams spent eight seasons in Green Bay and developed into a top-five receiver in Green Bay. While it’s a fun story for Adams and Green Bay to reunite, it won’t happen.

The reason Adams wanted to be traded to Las Vegas was his desire to go back to the West Coast.

Aaron Rodgers was set to receive a much larger contract extension than him, and if you’re choosing to keep one or the other, it would have been Rodgers. Teams can always find another talented wide receiver, but finding a franchise quarterback is the hardest job as an NFL executive.

Davante Adams won’t finish his career in Las Vegas, but his time in Green Bay is over. He will potentially be a hot commodity at this year’s trade deadline if the situation in Las Vegas doesn’t improve.
