Dan Orlovsky bizarrely claims the Bears should pass Caleb Williams and draft Jayden Daniels with their No.1 pick
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Until the 2024 offseason begins, the Chicago Bears dilemma would continue about whether to start afresh with Caleb Williams or give Justin Fields another chance. NBC Sports columnist, Peter King , in his last column even predicted that the Bears would pass on their No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

Contrary to all opinions, football analyst Dan Orlovsky seems to have suggested an entirely different slope for the franchise to walk on. If you ask him, the Bears should neither go with Williams nor give Fields another chance. Instead, he bizarrely advised them to draft Jaylen Daniels with their No.1 pick.

Orlovsky said on the recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up:

If I were the Chicago Bears right now, I would take Jayden Daniels . That is not a knock on Caleb Williams. That is a plus in Jayden Daniels… Caleb Williams is fantastic. I think Jayden Daniels is better . Dan Orlovsky said

Orlovsky advocating Daniels to be the No. 1 pick isn’t influenced by the recent buzz surrounding the NFL Scouting Combine. Get Up‘s Mike Greenberg put forward a previous conversation with the NFL analyst from back in October, where the former Detroit Lions’ quarterback said:

Caleb is tremendous, but not a lock to be 1. Dan Orlovsky said

Caleb Williams ready to join the Bears and become a legend

On one side where top analysts such as Orlovsky advised the Bears to pass Williams in the No. 1 pick, the USC quarterback is already beginning to prepare for his NFL journey as a Bears starter. He has been learning about franchise legends such as Michael Jordan and Walter Payton, to learn their gameplay and aim to be like them.

While talking about his goals for the NFL, Williams said:

As the saying goes, the legends live on. That's my goal of playing football -- it's not money, it's not fame ... it's to be immortal. Caleb Williams said addressing the media

Contrary to the discussions about whether Daniels should be the first pick, it’s already been stated that it will be Willams. The 22-year-old aiming for the Bears because growing up, he has seen many great players emerging as a legend in the Windy City.
