Cleveland Sports Talk Show Host Says It’s Embarrassing For The Browns To Sign Back Two Former Players

The Cleveland Browns announced on Tuesday morning that they would be re-signing linebacker Christian Kirksey, who played for the team from 2014-2019, and wide receiver Rashard Higgins, who played for the Browns from 2016-2021 to one-day contracts so they can retire as members of the organization. 

Adam The Bull Was Not A Fan Of This Move

Adam The Bull has been a talk show host in the city for over a decade now, starting on the radio station 92.3 The Fan and now on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show on YouTube, which is an excellent sports show, and all Cleveland fans should check it out said It’s an embarrassing moment for the franchise to let Higgns and Kirksey sign one-day contracts to retire with the team. Most of the time, players sign one-day contracts with a team who has been All-Stars or great players with that team. 

Bull Is Right About This Move

I don’t think Bull is out of line here. He does make excellent points that usually only a great player comes back and signs a one-day contract with the team they typically start with, and Higgns and Kirskey were great players, nothing special. 

Now it feels like the Cleveland Browns have to sign anyone who played for more than five years on the team to a one-day contract when they retire. Where do we draw the line between signing okay players to great players to one-day contracts?
