Chargers place four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris Jr. on injured reserve

The Los Angeles Chargers confirmed on Tuesday that they've placed cornerback Chris Harris Jr. on injured reserve due to the foot injury he suffered in Sunday's 21-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Harris must miss a minimum of three games per a rule for the 2020 season regarding players on IR. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Harris will be sidelined at least a month and could be out for six weeks.

The earliest the 31-year-old can return is when the Chargers play a road game against the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 25.

According to Shelley Smith of ESPN, Harris had played every defensive snap of the campaign until the setback. He's now one of eight Los Angeles starters injured.

Harris previously played for the Denver Broncos from 2011 through the 2019 season and made four Pro Bowl squads over that time. He was part of the Denver team that defeated Carolina in Super Bowl 50.
