Chandler Jones says Raiders sent a crisis response team to his home after rant against team
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders aren’t saying anything regarding Chandler Jones, although the defensive end keeps posting bizarre tirades on social media.

In fact, Jones let it be known that the Raiders sent a member of the Las Vegas Crisis Response Team to his home sometime Wednesday night. He posted a photo of the woman’s badge and added “Raiders sent her to my place said .. You need to come with us ‘You’re in danger.”

He continued to add to the Instagram Story post. All of it was in caps.

“THEY HAD ME OUTSIDE IN MY DRAWS LOL.. NAKED.

“THAT LADY WAS RUDE,” Chandler Jones wrote. “THEN I GOT TO SHOWING HER SOME OF THEM TEXT. AND THEN SHE SWITCHED UP..BUDDY FROM THE RAIDERS TRIED TO GIVE ME THE LOOK..LIKE ‘DON’T SAY ANYTHING’

“NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PLAYERS TURN TO SOCIAL MEDIA. AT FIRST I FROWNED UPON IT. BUT IT’S OUR ONLY OUTLET. IF I DIDN’T DO THIS, IT WOULD’VE BEEN KEPT UNDER WRAPS..

“ANYBODY INTERVIEW THEM AND ASK WHY I’M NOT ON WITH THE TEAM?

“BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW”

Then Chandler Jones seemed to swat a verbal volley at Raiders coach Josh McDaniels. “I’m a be nice Josh,” Jones wrote. “I wanted to play Sunday.. If you left (let) me play I won’t share anything else,”

Josh McDaniels described Chandler Jones situation as ‘private’

Reporters asked McDaniels about Jones, Wednesday. And the coach offered no perspective as to what was happening.

“That’s kind of a personal situation,” McDaniels said. “We’ve never really gone into those kinds of things, so I’m going to steer away from that. It’s a private matter, and if there’s something to report on it, then we’ll do that.”

McDaniels said he considered Jones’ status for the season opener against the Broncos as “day to day.”

On Thursday, Jones didn’t mention the Raiders on social. Rather, as of early afternoon, he shared three comments about either Jesus or God. A fourth appeared to be about God. He wrote “thank you for your mercy” punctuated with a praying hands emoji.

Jones missed several practices last month during training camp.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that this isn’t the first time the defensive end has behaved erraticallly. Back in January 2016, when Jones played for the Patriots, he showed up shirtless and disoriented at the Foxborough, Mass police department. The incident happened at 7:40 a.m. Police took him to a hospital for what they called a medical emergency. Doctors determined Jones had experienced a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana.

The Patriots selected Chandler Jones, 33, in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. And he’s been one of the better defenders in the NFL. New Englaand traded Jones to the Cardinals two months after the incident at the police department. He fit in nicely in Arizona. In 2017, he led the NFL in sacks. In fact, Jones has registered double-digit sack totals in seven of his 11 seasons. His career high was 19, which he totaled in 2019. Jones has made the Pro Bowl four times.

He signed with the Raiders last year.
