Brian Urlacher says Brett Favre was braver than striking NBA players

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has a take about NBA players and other athletes going on strike in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake.

Blake, a Black man, was shot at least seven times by police officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday.

The Hall of Famer took to Instagram to compare what he referred to as "NBA player boycotts" to one of the most memorable moments ever produced by fellow Hall member Brett Favre:

Urlacher referenced the time Favre played against the Oakland Raiders for a "Monday Night Football" game on Dec. 22, 2003, one day after his father died. The then-signal-caller for the Green Bay Packers was sensational, as he completed 20 of 39 attempts for 399 passing yards and four touchdown throws.

On Wednesday, the NBA and WNBA temporarily suspended play after the Milwaukee Bucks refused to take the court at the scheduled tipoff time for a Game 5 showdown versus the Orlando Magic. Those leagues remain idle through at least Thursday night.

Handfuls of Major League Soccer and MLB games were postponed on Wednesday, and several Thursday baseball contests have also been rescheduled. Additionally, the NHL postponed two Thursday playoff games.
